In addition to the taste, CBD has to be infused with a fat-based or oil-based ingredients such as butter, ghee lard, or coconut oil before adding it. Some recipes have alcoholic spirits like vodka, rum or whiskey to intensify the flavor but it is water-based, therefore, not advisable to added with CBD.

Temperature When Cooking CBD

CBD oil may act like any other oil in the market but it can be very sensitive to heat. Once the temperature gets mess up, it might destroy the CBD’s active properties which later evaporate and regard as impotent. CBD oil will start to evaporate if it reaches to a temperature higher than 320 to 356 degrees Fahrenheit.

Be careful not to place the CBD oil directly in the heat. Besides losing its terpenes, a compound that works in conjunction with CBD to increase its effectiveness. Too hot brings more bitterness of CBD

Use Small Amount

Starting with fewer ingredients is safer than putting too much in baked good and dishes. If you add too much of CBD, not only it is a waste but the bitterness will increase too much which be difficult to consume and it can be too strong for each serving.

If it is a first time to try out a recipe, start with a small serving of the first batch then work your way up but increasing the serving as you master the recipe. In this way, you can explore different flavors and maybe new treats that everyone can enjoy.

Keep in mind that when using CBD oil, the effect might diminish if it is not stored properly. Keep it in a cool, dark place because Cannabinoids are naturally sensitive to heat and light. When bitterness starts to set in too much, potency and quality have probably decreased.
